It's a pretty little temple. It's worth seeing but not worth going to see.

京都の街中にある寺院。天台系の単立寺院で、本堂が平面六角形であることから通称は六角堂。山号は紫雲山、西国三十三所第18番札所。聖徳太子が如意輪観音を安置した六稜の小堂に始まると伝え、のち嵯峨天皇の勅願所。親鸞が百日参籠をしている。本坊を池坊といい、華道・池坊の発祥の地としても知られる。

建物の形が六角なので六角堂と言うとか。華道発祥の地。住職がいけばな池坊の家元を兼ねているそうです。
